Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Who do I contact if I have questions?

A: If you have questions, start by asking your child’s coach.  If your questions are not answered, please email [email protected].


Q: What is my child's league age?

A: League age for girls in softball is determined by the player's age on December 31st.  For example, a player who is 12 on 12/31/20 is considered league age 12 for the 2021 season.


Q: What are the different levels?

A: Visit our PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS page for information on the different program levels.  


Q: Where are games played?

A: Games are scheduled in Pepperell and other towns participating in the Cortland Softball League. Home games are played on the fenced in softball field next to the Sis McGrath Community Center.  Please see the site links at the bottom of the page for Cortland League to see most current list of towns participating in the program.


Q: What is the schedule like?

A: 6U -  1 practice/week with game immediately after
    8U -  1-2 practices and 1 game/week
    10U -  1-2 practices and 1-2 games/week
12U -  1-2 practices and 1-2 games/week
14U -  1-2 practices and 1 game/week
16U -  1-2 practices and 1 game/week


Q: What do I wear?

A:  Team shirts, black softball pants and socks are required.  Depending on the program, some or all of these items will be provided, some will not.  You will be advised of this prior to, or at, the first practice.  Players will keep their shirt number through their playing time with Pepperell Softball. Cleats are recommended, but sneakers may be worn.  Fielder's masks are required.     


Q: What do I bring to practice/games?

A: All players need to bring their own softball glove, fielder’s mask and water to practices and games. Pepperell Softball provides helmets, bats, balls, and catching gear.  Players may choose to purchase their own helmets and bats if they wish.


Q: How long is the season?

A: The spring season runs approximately 6 weeks.  10U, 12U, 14U and 16U programs will have playoff games at the end of the season.  Practice and game schedules will be announced as soon as they are available. 


Q: How can I register and what is the cost?

A: Click our REGISTRATION INFO tab at the top of the page for registration information and program costs.  


Q: Can I receive a refund after registering?

A:    A 100% refund will be issued if a player voluntarily withdraws prior to the draft, team assignment or is injured prior to the beginning of regular season play. A prorated refund will be issued if a player becomes injured after regular season play begins.


Q: When will I hear from a coach?

A: Two weeks prior to the start of the season.  You can also click on our TEAM CENTRAL tab at the top of the page for updates.
